Ability to change format of date attribute in email

It is currently not possible to change the format of a date attribute used in an email template. The default is YYYY/MM/DD.
National Business Aviation Association would like the ability to change the format to DD/MM/YYYY and MM/DD/YYYY (like you can for date attributes in credential designs).

The default for [credential.expired_on] is a US format (yyyy-mm-dd) but SAE International's customers are a mix of US and Europe and would find this date format confusing. They would like to have the ability to change the date format in emails
